Every year, twenty thousand infants and approximately 700 mothers are lost in pregnancy and childbirth; this is too many lives lost. CDC states that 80% of these deaths are preventable.
Women’s concerns are
voiced to medical professionals only to be sent home without their chief
complaints being appropriately addressed or taken seriously. This response has
caused cases to result in the death of the mother, baby, or both. Although many
women voice their concerns, many concerns are not resolved in time to get them
out of harm’s way soon enough.
