Disabled American Veterans is an organization of
disabled veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled
veterans and their families. We are dedicated to a single purpose, empowering
veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. The organization
accomplishes this goal by providing free assistance to veterans in obtaining
benefits and services earned through their military service. The Disabled
American Veterans provides a service to all veterans that have received an
honorable discharge, by helping veterans who have a financial need, with gas,
food, water, electricity, rent, vehicle repair, plus we provide free van rides to
the VA hospital in Little Rock and North Little Rock, along with taking veterans
to the VA medical facility in Conway. Without the service we provide, families
would struggle with getting those family members to the VA medical facilities.
Every member of our chapter is a volunteer, we give of our own personal time
and money to make sure veterans get the service they need. It is fully funded
through its membership dues and public contributions. We are not a government
agency and receive no government funds or United Way funding. The money that our organization raises goes to helping veterans.
