In California, the Los Angeles Dept. of Public Health reports a 48% increase in accidental overdoses during the first five months of the pandemic. Our community is no exception. Certainly, no one understands the need for change better than our founder, who lost her own beloved son in 2021 to an overdose at just 27 years old.
The focus of The Chace Taylor Malone Impact Foundation-LA is to offer individuals a comprehensive plan to effect meaningful change and save lives. This wraparound approach is vital to address the complex needs of individuals suffering from addiction, often exacerbated by mental health and social issues. Our vision is a safe and healthy community, free from the tragedy of addiction.
We strive to rid our community of the unimaginable suffering caused by opioids and other harmful substances which have taken hold in our neighborhoods.
Our mission is to serve individuals and their families in our community who suffer from anxiety, depression and/or isolation which leads to self-medicating with substances.
The donation funds assist the foundation in connecting individuals with treatment options and services through a network of established partnerships. For those who do not have the financial means to obtain proper treatment, the foundation works to supplement partial.or all expenses for the client.
The donation funds also provide fee coverage for the Stewards who walks alongside the client connecting them to the resources and professionals through their sobriety and wellness journey. Our goal is to form a continued care bond between our steward and clients. The Impact Foundation is familiar with the Alcoholics/Narcotics anonymous model of sponsors and sponsees. We have re-imagined this relationship between our client and a professional steward. Instead of just calling one’s steward when a client needs support, the steward will be proactive about communicating and planning with each client and their family.
Donation funds also assist in the foundation to acquire full-time usage of a facility/headquarter to handle the operational, administrative and office needs. We look to do so also in coalition supporting the Crescenta Valley Firehouse Youth Center. If we can empower the youth of our community to find their confidence, have good supportive options and a safe place, we offer a sustainable healthy future.
