The project will promote the conservation of Aberdare Forest which is currently endangered by forest fires and illegal logging. The forest is world heritage site and one of Kenya's biggest Water towers which is the source of Kenya's biggest river, River Tana that Supports SEVEN Hydro electricity Dams and numerous irrigation and water projects sustaining the livelihoods of over 20 million Kenyans Downstream.

The Project requires $50,000 to be successfully implemented. Funds will be used to:

1) Plant 20,000 indigenous trees in 200 schools.

2) Promote environmental education in 200 schools.

3) Paint 200 conservation murals in public areas and schools to promote conservation.

3) Enable 300 households to adopt improved cooking stoves to conserve trees.

4) Project administration.

Joram Mathenge is the Founder and Executive Director at Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative, a Non profit organisation in Kenya working to fight climate change in Kenya EducationHe is a trained Artist and Studied Resilience Thinking at Stockholm Resilience Centre,University of Stockholm, He is an Experienced Conservationist with a demonstrated history of working in renewable energy,Environmental art,and advocacy.
