Few opportunities exist for community college students to participate in internships. When they are available, they are time- and cost-prohibitive since most are unpaid and students usually work 30 hours or more per week while taking classes. This makes it difficult for students to gain extracurricular and internship experience that would strengthen their transfer applications to four-year universities.
We'd like to offer a substantial stipend to strongly motivated students for the Fall 2019 semester. Two students will be offered a 16-week internship (10 hours per week.) Donations go to their stipend and $100 will be set aside to cover the cost of supplies.
