Her non profit venture started after opening a family flower business an impoverished North Philadelphia area. Huriyyah saw that providing the at risk youth in the neighborhood with jobs helped to keep them away from crime. Hence she incorporated and formed a youth entrepreneurial Stop the Violence program. This lead to filling a void with local entrepreneurs by creating an annual business expo which brings together the arts, youth, businesses and community.
