In the video, Kuks Daycare and Primary School Founder, Francisca Mukuka Chanda, explains the situation in Zambia and at her school with returning to school amid COVID-19.

She explains the financial support needed to keep the school open with parents unable to pay tuition and for providing individual desks for social distancing as well as other supplies to keep her preschool and school-aged children safe.

Francisca also explains how these necessities will help parents feel comfortable enough to allow their children back in the school to learn since Online learning is largely unavailable in Zambia.

About the Founder and Kuks Daycare and Primary School Center

Francisca is a Social Worker and an early childhood teacher and innovative leader who participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship's 2018 Young African Leadership (YALI) program. Her entrepreneurial business, the Kuks Daycare and Primary School was selected among 800 other projects out of a pool of more than 40,000 applications.

She adheres to servant leadership which is a style of giving, service and putting the interests of others first in a bid to improve lives and seek to address social grievous.

Francisca founded a growing daycare center with only $600 as a startup capital in 2015 to promote quality education and creation of employment for herself and other youths in her community. She opened the Kuks Daycare and Primary School center with only 3 children and now has nearly 100 children - of which 20% are orphans attending tuition-free.
