Their names are Aleksei, Tamara, Olek, Yulia, Vyktor and Oksana.
They are mothers, fathers, singles; they come from all religions and all walks of life.
They have two things in common:
They are desperate to leave Ukraine.
And they are turning to Yad Yisroel/Ukraine Rescue for help.
Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, our organization has been actively building educational facilities, synagogues, camps, and welfare programs across Ukraine. While our focus was on cities that hadn’t seen Jews or Jewish communities for decades, our doors were always open to anyone in need - regardless of their faith or lack thereof.
Now, after investing so much in helping the people of Ukraine, we need your help to get them out.
Now.
With every day that passes, it becomes more and more difficult to move people out of Ukraine. All buses are being requisitioned by the Ukrainian army. The number of drivers willing to take the chance on driving civilians for hours over dangerous roads is dwindling, and crossing the border becomes more perilous almost by the hour.
And the more difficult it gets, the more money it takes.
As of now, it costs a minimum of $2500 per person just to get across the border. And that’s if everything goes smoothly. If it doesn’t…
But there’s more.
Once people are out of harm’s way, they still need somewhere to sleep and food to eat. They need clothing because they’ve left everything behind. They need heat.
They need you.
When you save even one person’s life, you are saving an entire world.
The Ukraine Rescue command center in Belarus is literally working 24/7, because this is a life-and-death situation. We will not stop until we’ve helped every single person who contacts us - and done everything we can to make sure no one is left who wasn’t able to.
Because every human being is a world, and there are thousands of worlds waiting in Ukraine.
Help us help them. Before it’s too late.

Rabbi Elisha of Yad Yisroel reported that they have now brought 2,500 people across the border. Some by bus, some elderly Holocaust survivors by private transport, and others who made it somehow by foot with their paperwork.
They have 24 people on the ground in Belarus helping the people as they cross to figure out and arrange for their next steps. Donations are still needed and are crucial to continue their efforts to save lives and provide basic necessities to evacuees.
Fuel is becoming scarce, ATMs are empty, roads are blocked by barricades. The intensity of violence is increasing and curfews are in full effect. Make a donation to show your support for #Ukraine!

Save one life, save the world
I am contributing because I am sickened by the situation in Ukraine and the heartbreak for families. You are doing great work so I want to support you in order that you may continue.
How can anyone stand by without showing support for the Ukranian people?
We donated to Yad Yisroel Ukraine Rescue Fund (on behalf of Libby Hikind and her YouHelp.com website) to help the people of Ukraine. Everyone should donate.
Glad we could help!
Thank you. Prayers for the people of Ukraine
This whole mess is such a shonda. If my donation can provide diapers for babies, food for families, and medical aid to soldiers, it is my way of helping
