More about RaksatiYR:

CONTAINS SENSITIVE MATERIAL:

  • IN THE US AS MANY AS ONE IN FOUR WOMEN ARE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
  • ONE IN FIVE WOMAN HAVE BEEN RAPED.
  • ON A TYPICAL DAY, THERE ARE MORE THAN 20,000 PHONE CALLS PLACED TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HOTLINES NATIONWIDE
  • 1 IN 15 CHILDREN ARE EXPOSED TO INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE EACH YEAR
  • 90% OF THESE CHILDREN ARE EYEWITNESSES TO THIS VIOLENCE

How do we end domestic violence? The truth is, i'm sure we could think of many ways, but how to enact them? At RYR we don't have the answer to that question, and wish we did. We couldn't be there for survivors while it was happening, BUT we are here now. We want to create an immersion into healing. A week of only happy tears, a place to renew some good in the world, when they've known so much darkness... We need your help to make this dream for so many humans real.

Now for the business end of things:

In order to move into funding for larger-scale purchasing for the retreat, RYR has to take the first steps, which are those necessary to becoming a nonprofit.

Some ways funding will be used:

1. Articles of incorporation

2. Hire a registered agent service.

3. Obtain EIN.

4. Federal and/or State Tax Exemptions.

5. Apply for 501(c)(3) status.

The total projected amount  is about $1500 to apply and register, anything you can do to help: say a prayer, share this link, donate, it all helps make the world a better place for DV survivors. Thank You.

Women Recovering From Trauma And Abuse

Raksati Y&R is going to become a non-profit retreat organization serving women who are living with trauma of past domestic abuse. We'd like to create a safe space for those who identify as women, to cry only happy tears, to shed some layers of defeat & regret, to find hope.

I am happy to donate because I myself was in an abusive relationship for nearly 4 years. I can only dream of a future full of recovery and believe that this will help other women on that road.
