Beat the Streets, Inc introduced the Work Readiness Program, which provides resources and support services to young adults within middle school, continuation/alternative high school and/or adult schools in education, employment and life skills. In education to ensure youth and young adults complete their high school education or GED, as education is a solid foundation for successful employment. We encourage the desire to achieve higher education through attendance in college to further their education, as well as provide basic computer knowledge and experience. Having college education and basic computer knowledge provide skills to function in employment endeavors and allows for various professional opportunities. We mentor and tutor on applying themselves in college and provide vocational training on employment seeking, resume preparation, and interview preparedness, which all lead to gainful employment.

Our need of $5k is to pay for two month of operating expenses, which includes rent, insurance, and internet services of $1k per month and for 2 P/T staff payroll for two months at $13 per hour, 20 hours per week. Without funding to help sustain us, our services are in jeopardy of being discontinued, our rent will be delinquent and our staff will go unpaid. In essence our doors will close. Our services are provided to at-risk youth and young adults who otherwise lack such skills and resources. Your generous contribution is greatly appreciated.
