The Gulf Coast Sharks Football Club is an all-volunteer 501(c) organization dedicated to the development of football, academic excellence, and character skills for student-athletes.
We welcome all kids to come and learn and play the game of football with kids from various backgrounds which in turn will also teach valuable life skills such as accountability, responsibility, leadership , and teamwork, which will help them be successful no matter what path in life they choose.
This organization provides a competitive environment that will teach kids the game of football focusing on techniques required for the various positions in football. It will then test them and the skills they have learned against some of the best teams in the U.S. We are building a Nationally Rank team and program of the hardest working and best football players in the area to compete again teams from all over the country.
The program is a year-round football program. That being said, we will not be constantly hitting and risking injury due to repetitive contact. Our goal is to have basically 3 main seasons: Fall League, Tournament, and Spring Ball.
Fall League - We are researching various leagues in the area and building very competitive teams for players who want to compete with us in a league in the fall season.
Tournament - Starting in November through March is what we consider the tournament season. We will be scheduling matches against other travel / all-star teams in the region. We will also be competing in area, regional and national tournaments to showcase the skills our players have developed through their hard work and dedication.
Spring Ball - From February to July we will also be training and competing in football matches and tournaments throughout the country.
That being said, tournaments vary in the rules and regulations. Some have teams made up of various ages and other restrictions such as weight. We are building a pool of players aged from 7 to 14 years old. We will separate them into groups such as 8U, 10U, 11U, 12U, and 14U and adjust the teams makeup based on tournament requirements. No player will practice or play against players more than a one-year age difference.
We offer year-round academic tutoring and leadership mentorship program to all of our student-athletes. Many of our student-athletes come from disadvantaged households and we provide them with a positive environment to help them with their academic and athletic future in high school or at the college level.
