The above interview from the 700 Club reflects the back story of The Malachi Project.
The Founder, Pastor Terrell Scott, attended Henry County High.  He graduated with a full wrestling scholarship. The thrill of money and the power of selling drugs and pulling off armed robberies eventually ended him up in prison.  He received a 25 to do 20 sentence.  As you will hear in the above interview, the woman he had held up at gunpoint over a bad drug deal, came into the prison and offered forgiveness, and shared that the Lord had a bigger plan for his life than being a Gang Leader. He promised God in prison when he got out he would take back the community where he ran drugs and armed robberies.  The Malachi Project has been loving and sowing into the youth of these communities for the past 6 years.

We ask that you consider making a donation to The Malachi House.

Project Description

Many of our children have lives marked with abandonment, insecurity, loneliness, neglect, abuse, and fear. Some families of our children are often asked to move from their residences due to not paying the rent and/or behavioral issues, and they end up in motels, changing schools many times. This results in not being able to make healthy friendships, resulting in feelings of failure and alienation. Therefore, their attendance and learning are deeply affected.

Our goal is to help young students that are getting left behind in reading. Many of our students from the McDonough Housing Authority are years behind their peers. Over the years through planned reading assessments and engagement through tutors, our young students have been able to bridge that gap. Many volunteers have given hundreds of hours to see our students grow and succeed. The ministry needs financial help to impact more students and help break this detrimental cycle of illiteracy. This grant will help empower us and our students for a higher level of learning and reading.
