MAZAL TOV!

In 1977, The Young Israel of Eltingville (YIE), celebrated its first of many smachot. A baby boy was born and despite the early hour and below zero temperatures, the shul was packed; including an overabundance of deli meats, Slivovitz herring and kichel.

That warmth has only increased over the last 40+ years and continues to be the soul and personality of everyone who has had the privilege to call YIE its home.

At the turn of the century, Kollel Knesses Yisroel made its humble appearance alongside the YIE, bringing along some of the finest Avreichim, learning from the early morning into the whey hours of the night.

The Kollel continued to expand,  a yeshiva Ketana was founded and many of the avreichim purchased homes, realizing the beauty and strength of Am Yisroel, as they all worked in sync to build a Torah community.

While the community is mostly self sufficient, currently, there is a tremendous need that is financially overwhelming. The pillar of Torah learning, the Kollel building and Mikdash Me'aat, are desperately in need of repair work.

The $50,000.00 being raised will replace the roof, repair water damage, fix the broken doors, receive a fresh coat of paint and restore the Makom Kadosh to its glory, השיבינו ה' ונשובה

Please open your hearts!
