Delicious Spoonfuls of ice cream, coffees, desserts and more while you help people with Down Syndrome, autism and other Special Needs improve their lives through training and employment.

Statistics are dire. Too many people with disabilities are focused on what they can't do rather than what than can do, often with some encouragement and training.  Larger agencies such as Goodwill and Vocational Rehabilitation help but are stuck with bureaucracy slowing down their efforts.

We will employ 8 people on a part-time basis (to conform with the limitations of Social Security and the health insurance many people with Disabilities depend on).  The experience my husband Robert Gottesman and I bring as well as the professionals on our team will get each of our staff members included in the local community, gain life skills and job skills, and of course gainful employment.  Our son Adir has Down Syndrome. At 25, he has worked for 4 years at a local Goodwill store, and also sells men's ties at networking events and more through his own business "Adir's Men's Fashions".  He has been learning to cook under my tutelage and wants to be one of the trainers at Delicious Spoonfuls.

Helen Helen A Gottesman

Chef Helen Gottesman is proudest of her work as a Personal Chef and her work with children and adults with Special Needs. She is able to work with kids and adults including her son Adir, with Down Syndrome to get them to see their worth and abilities rather than focus on their disabilities.
