Pastor Corey J. Mitchell, the founder of Hope Community Outreach Ministries, Inc. grew up in rural south Louisiana, dreamed of helping families break the cycle of poverty and helping to end injustices that barred families of color from achieving economic equity. While serving as pastor of a church in North Carolina, Covid-19 hit and Pastor Corey teamed up with the Interfaith Food Shuttle, and US Veterans Corps to provide food to communities who lacked transportation to get food. Then the opportunity arose for Pastor Corey to join the Campbell University Center for Church & Community Rural Minister's Fellowship and heard God tell him it was time to go home to give back to the community where he grew up.When he returned, he saw some of his neighbors living in homes that were once beautiful and well-maintained, in desperate need of repair.  When he spoke with them, he realized that he needed to help. So he teamed up with Cameron Domingue, the owner of Domingue Home Improvement Group, LLC, and Wanda Jones, the Councilwoman for District 3 in Plaquemine competed for a grant and won a Campbell University Center for Church & Community Rural Minister's Fellowship Grant for $10,000 served as seed money to help offset the cost of critical home repairs, exterior projects, and other home improvements for seniors and low-income families in the Fortville community in Plaquemine, Louisiana.

Funding this project will:

  • provide financial and personal stress relief for homeowners who are struggling with high energy and repair costs,
  • result in neighborhoods becoming revitalized
  • make community connections
  • and preserve affordable housing inventory in the community.

Your tax-deductible donation in the amount of $25, $50, $100, $250, or $500 will assist us in reaching our goal of $7500. 100% of all donations will be used toward the Homes of Hope project. Every member of Hope Community Outreach Ministries, Inc including the Pastor is an unpaid volunteer.  Your support is critical to helping at least 20 families to get up to $1,125 towards home repairs as part of this project.

We would appreciate it if you were able to support our efforts to make a difference in the Fortville community.
