I am asking for help to send my son to college. He has registered and received some financial aid, but he must pay for out-of-state tuition and campus housing, which totals to $50,000 every year. After his scholarships and financial aid, he still must pay $27,000 each year.
We live in Massachusetts and my son has always wanted to go to Nova Southeastern University in Florida, his first-choice college. He fell in love with the school at orientation. He was so excited that he would be spending the next four years there.
Since we discovered the financial situation, he has been very frustrated knowing he will not be able to attend college. We are a family of five and only my husband works; we cannot help Luis, my son, pay the university’s hefty price tag.
We are immigrants from Brazil and I never had a chance to go to college. I want to give that opportunity to my children, so they may pursue substantial careers. We are in the process of trying to buy a house. If we apply for a federal loan for Luis’ college tuition, we will not be able to apply for a home loan, which puts us in a very tight situation.
I decided to apply for a private loan and was approved, but the interest rates for a $27,000 loan would put us $60,000 in debt. If he borrows money for the four years, he will graduate with $250,000 of debt in addition to the loans he has already received from financial aid. How could he start and finish medical school when his undergraduate career puts him in so much debt?
We have discussed the situation and he has decided to drop out college. As a mother, though, I have to do something! He needs a chance to go to college—a good college like Nova. He is incredibly smart and I know he will do very well in college.
Please help me minimize the cost of sending my son to college. I will appreciate anything you can contribute. Thank you so much.

Please help me minimize the costs of sending my son to college. After financial aid, he still must pay $27,000 every year. If we cannot raise substantial funding, he will be unable to attend college. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
