I never thought be I'd be in a disaster like this. My family is struggling harder than ever before after losing everything we had over night along with our hopes and dreams. We've been living life in a hotel for so many years. My son and I look forward to having our own bedrooms. My dad, a verterian, died years ago and left us a house. We are forever grateful. But, on the same day we moved into his home, while we slept, I was wakened by smoke. As I gained my senses, I could see flames coming through the walls of our home, so I made sure everyone got out. I never thought I would lose everything. I held onto hope that that the fire fighters would extinguish the blaze on the back side of the house and roof and we wouldn't suffer as badly. Maybe we could still live in the home. But, saddly, my family and I watched for hours as our home burned to the ground. We cried in disbelief. I am scared about where my family will live and the sentimental loss of the home my dad built himself back in 1986. Where are my kids going live if something happens to me? I never felt so helpless before. I am afraid I can’t provide for my children. I heard my son cry out, "We are good people mom. We try to be. What did we do wrong?" I can’t seem to find an answer to why this happened to my family. Please take a moment and try to remember a time when you and your family went through tough times. Your donations will ease our daily struggles to find clothes for the next day and keep us from going homeless. God bless everyone that can help us an little.

My family is lucky to have a daily change of clothes and we are concerned about keeping a roof over our heads. We lost everything that we worked so hard to build. We had finally gotten to the point of owning a house, until fire destroyed our home.
