My amazing friend Jill is the strongest person I know. She has always been there for me and every one of our friends even friends of ours that she barely knows but she still helped them because they needed it and it's just the kind of huge hearted, caring person she is. Unfortunately she has fallen on hard times, the man she married is not the man the man she knew, loved or started a family with.
She had to take her two children both with special needs and flee losing everything. Little by little she has been trying to rebuild their lives, but has faced many bumps in the road on their new journey. She's recently had to move for safety reasons, a great deal was lost, stolen, or broken. Her children's medical care is costly, as is her own. You see she is sick too she has a rare autoimmune overlap syndrome rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus (rhupus is its term but it's rare and often referred to as an overlap syndrome by its features to most who have heard of it), epilepsy (seizures both grand mal, petite mal, and tonic clonic) significant spinal damage and degeneration that has been progressively deteriorating over the past 10 years after being hit by a drunk driver. Still she's determined to be her best self and the best mother possible so her boys can be their best selves. Her fight for her health is a stellar example for her 2 boys to stay strong and work with treatment to overcome their obstacles just as their mom has and does.
The move ate up her savings and it seems like things just won't get better as she describes it. The bills are coming in faster than she can pay them, she no longer has a vehicle for appointments and errands, she has no support or family around her and her only friends are here and she's a ways from home so there's no one to even physically help. She's struggling to keep up and falling behind, and just needs a hand to help her get ahead so she can afford to keep the lights on, food on the table, and her family happy and healthy and be able to get them to and from appointments and to stores etc...
True to form her abuser found it easiest to victimize her by isolating her from support and alienating any new friends she tried to make. It kept her under his control and effectively closed the blinds on the world to the abuses she was enduring. She fought for herself and for her children and was strong and brave enough to make their escape a success.
Will you please honor the brave fight of a struggling domestic violence survivor and help her and her boys? Every little bit helps. #DomesticViolence #Survivor
