Costello Housing Solutions, Inc. (CHS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization Foster Care Transitional Home for youths who are at the “age out” stage of foster care. The youths in the house will range from ages 18-21, are enrolled in college or has a job or actively looking for one or a combination of both. Young adults aging out of the foster care system do not have a place to live and transition into society. CHS will provide a safe home where the young adults can build a bridge to independently incorporate into society.
The house will guide and provide tools the youths can use during their stay and in the future. The house is a way to minimize the homelessness probabilities, increase continued education, and reduce the odds of them having children before they are ready to prevent the continuation of the cycle of foster care. “Stably housed young adults find it much easier to access needed health care and social services; thus, housing stability contributes to good physical and mental health.
CHS must first raise funds to purchase a home. Once the house and operational funds are secured, The CHS will provide a haven home for the youths. The house will also ensure a safe transition to build self-care and self-awareness. Services will be provided to the youths to develop practical skills to reach the goal of independent living. As The CHS grows, program outcomes will be tracked as well as turnover ratios. The program and turnover ratios will allow The CHS to show the results of their efforts, as well as guides to expand or enrich the program offerings.
Please provide a donation to help us offer a 2nd chance at independence.
