City On A Hill was founded in 2007 as a faith based non-profit organization with the mission to serve women afflicted by substance abuse. Before 2007, there were no residential substance abuse treatment facilities in the Western half of Kansas that were specific for women. While providing an eight-bed treatment facility to women in SW Kansas, City On A Hill has also been able to open three other programs in Kansas, all licensed by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability and in good standing.

Our residential facility located in Marienthal, KS is a state designated women's program and treatment is provided by licensed staff who are trained on the specific needs of women who have endured trauma in their lives. Our facility in Marienthal is uniquely located on a farm in rural SW Kansas. This program moved from Camp Christy in Scott City, KS to the farm in 2009 and has a capacity of eight inpatient beds.  Throughout their program, women receive daily treatment groups utilizing Stephanie Covington's "Helping Women Recover" curriculum. Cognitive behavioral change based groups are also implemented throughout the week in the 24-hour structured program. Residents follow a schedule that also includes attending community meetings such as AA, NA, and Celebrate Recovery, parenting class, life skills, church service and evening church activities available.

With the need of substance abuse treatment on the rise in Kansas and a lack of accessible treatment programs, City On A Hill has deemed it necessary to expand residential treatment services in SW Kansas. Along with expansion of a current service provided, an additional program will also be implemented. The current location of our inpatient program in SW Kansas only has the capacity to provide treatment to eight women. By moving to a new location, this program will double the resident capacity to sixteen. The new location has the space to add a social detox unit with up to eight beds.

Our new facility is located in Dighton, KS and expected to open on July 1, 2022. The building has been vacant for several years and is in need of many repairs before it can be opened. City On A Hill is would like to ask for donations to help pay for the repairs of the new building. Without a larger building, we are unable to expand our ministry.
