The goal of Empowering Generation-Next is to feed the ‘whole’ person. Food nourishes the mind, education nourishes the brain and hope nourishes the spirit. To evoke change, all three must be nurtured.

Outcomes:

·        Youth: Providing the foundation to overcome barriers that often accompany poverty. Our centers are a safe-haven where children ages 8-18 can seek shelter and protection far away from the harsh reality that is suffocating their local communities. Licensed counselors and educators instill life-transforming skills, preparing each to become successful adults. Interactive workshops engage participants to focus on four target areas of growth development:

1. Anti-bullying
2. Forward to Success
3. Positive Self-Image
4. Strong Personal Character

·        Families in crisis/unemployed: There is no greater heartache than a parent opening a refrigerator scrounging through the bare shelves searching for a morsel to feed their hungry child. For many, the food provided at the pantry is the only nourishment they can provide. That immediate service solves the short-term crisis, but it will not change the outcome for the future. Licensed counselors, educators, and financial planners are on standby to work hand-in-hand with those in need to provide life-transforming services. Employment skill training, resume writing, career searches, debt solutions, and resource centers are rebuilding our community one person at a time.

·        Frail Elderly: Living on meager fixed incomes has forced so many to painfully choose between paying for rent, food or medicine. Even if they could afford to balance the cost of living, seniors are isolated and trapped without transportation or the ability to move freely throughout the community. Our meals-on-wheels trucks deliver food to the most vulnerable. A licensed counselor is on standby to help the neediest navigate resources to better sustain their lives.
