Hello, my name is Dawn Carey. My husband Joseph Orazio, and I have run into some serious setbacks in the past few years, starting with the passing of my sister
in 2013. That started us on a course where we fell behind on car payments and utilities payments and other expenses. We have had to make urgent repairs to our home, which caused us to have to make serious decisions about where to spend what limited funds
Joe and I are both disabled. He has Multiple Sclerosis and a severe back and neck injury. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Diabetes along with a host of other auto-immune diseases. I am my husband’s caregiver. Our car, that we have been paying on for five of the seven-year loan, was repossessed July 26, 2018. This car is our only means of transportation. We live outside of town and the bus line does not run close enough to our home to make it readily available. Neither of us can walk as far as would be needed to access public transportation.
Joe is home-bound for the most part and I have difficulty walking and use a cane to get around. We need the car to get to the church, grocery, pharmacy, and doctors app-ointments and other errands.
We have lived in a mobile-home park for the past 17 years and have managed to buy our home and pay it off and to buy two new cars and pay them off. We traded the
last one in on this car. When our old car broke down to the point it was not able to be repaired, we decided to buy new to have peace of mind, reliability and something in the warranty if something breaks down.
We have missed three payments in the life of the loan with all other payments made on time. We could just never make up those lost payments. We want everyone to know that we have the funds to cover our bills every month, but not much left over. If we could just get caught up, we will be fine. I have started working the local festivals and the flea market on weekends so that we have a little extra money steadily coming in. I design handcrafted custom jewelry and I make homemade fudge. Joe sells on eBay and he manages my Facebook Marketplace accounts, where I sell jewelry and fudge. We are trying very hard and doing what we can to earn money.
Thank you for any amount of donation you can give. Without the car, I cannot take care of my husband or myself adequately. We need $4,000.00 to catch up on the car payment and utilities. That includes repo fees and everything. We only have a few days to get the car back. The car will go to auction after that. The repo people have moved the car to South Carolina. Please have some mercy and compassion and donate now.
Thank you again.
