City Of Hope Safe Haven Inc. is a non-profit established in 2007.We started this vision in my 7-bedroom home for emotional support for men and women who have any kind of life controlling issue. We will help them to realize their potential and their dreams through trainings, referrals, and housing. Our mission is to help transitional and unhoused individuals develop their capacity for self-sufficiency and overall well-being. We fulfill our mission each day by fostering hope to the hopeless, providing emergency shelter to the unhoused, feeding the hungry and providing resources. COHSH is governed by an active Board of Directors, who oversee the organization's fiscal management and are responsible for developing the organization's strategic plan. In addition to overseeing program activities to ensure alignment with its vision, mission, strategy, and goals.
Partnerships are essential to the fulfillment of our organizational goals. We partner with trusted community organizations within Dekalb County and surrounding counties to ensure sustainability, programmatic success, continuous support, and to increase our reach. In addition, we prioritize working with partners to promote innovation and the adoption of best practices; Improved effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability within the very segment of the unhoused population where our support is needed most. Key partnership includes outreach teams, public health workers, state and local housing department authorities, and emergency planners. We provide them with an array of positive alternatives from which they can make choices that determine the quality of their lives. Our program is a 12- 24 month long residential community living program. It is faith-based ministry that focuses on teaching them how to build and cultivate a distinctive relationship with God as the primary tool they need.
COHSH has evolved into providing multiple services. Now affordable sustainable housing is our challenge. Our goal is to build Eco -friendly container homes that are environmentally safe for building communities. Sustainable development has to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Case studies highlight the benefits of Green Development, they are Financial, Environmental, and Social.
A. Reusing portions of existing structures.
B. Lower operating and maintenance cost
C. Reduces risk and liabilities
D. Less impact on the natural environment
E. Healthy environments and improved productivity
F. Stronger social media
G. Increased environmental awareness
GREEN IINIATIVES
1. Maximin use of natural daylight. (Solar panels}
2. Maximin use of natural rainwater collection
3. Maintain a sustainable garden {teach}
We envision a world where unhoused individuals are nonexistent. To ensure that it's rare, brief, and non-recurring.
Funding will be 100% used on the building of the Eco - Friendly Affordable Container Project
