Friends of Willow Tree is a non-profit enrichment center located in North County San Diego. We support children from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses.
As a community partner for multiple independent study public charters, families are able to use their enrichment funds in order to attend our program without putting a financial burden on their families.
Our goal is to provide families with a choice in the education they desire for their children regardless of their socioeconomic status.
The mission of Friends of Willow Tree is to educate the child while unfolding their potential as a whole and unique human being. Friends of Willow Tree is a place where children experience the joy of learning in an environment rich in challenging academic programs and active community involvement. While upholding high standards for personal responsibility, students are encouraged to explore the world around them and to have the courage to take risks. The Friends of Willow Tree community nurtures each child’s innate inquisitiveness and ingenuity while ensuring that their confidence keeps pace with their capabilities.
We are asking you today to help support our students! Our current facility does not allow for the connection with the natural world that our children deserve. Your contribution toward our new campus will enable us to serve more children and educate them in an environment surrounded by nature.
The funds you contribute to our cause will be used toward the permits to build our beautiful campus on 14 acres of land.
THANK YOU for your support and donations!

Bethany Chaffin
Bethany Chaffin is the founder and administrator of the enrichment center, Friends of Willow Tree. She has been involved in private, charter, and traditional public schools since 2000. During this time, she was awarded San Diego County Teacher of the Year. The combination of Bethanys interest in brain-based research, along with her long-standing observations that traditional instructional approaches were not sufficiently meeting the needs of the diverse learners in the classroom, propelled Bethany to establish her own programs.
For Liam Levicki...we love you. -Auntie Lara and family.
Grandparents of Lillian Patterson. She is learning and enjoying your school. Thank you!
