Hayley is the middle daughter of Rachel and Ryan Johnson and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was just 4 years old.

She is a straight A student, in her junior year of high school, is president of National Art Honor Society, Paws for a Cause Club, GLOW Club and was just inducted into the National Honor Society.  She recently scored a 1320 on her SAT and is a dedicated student who plans to graduate and attend a four year college to obtain a degree in education.

Hayley currently uses a continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump to control her diabetes as well as possible to avoid organ failure and disease, blindness, and more.  Unfortunately, with changing laws, these tools have become cost prohibitive as they are subject to her personal $5,000 deductible.  All of these supplies cost about $800/mo and that is difficult for most families, not to mention a family with three people in the family who have chronic illness including diabetes, Parkinson's disease (dad) and chronic variable immune deficiency (mom).

These tools allow Hayley to live a somewhat more carefree life, the life she was supposed to live before this diagnosis.  Without the tools, her life and diabetes control becomes much more complicated, we just need help gaining access to them.

Hayley Quinn Johnson

Hayley uses a continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump to have as much control over her diabetes as possible. Due to changes in the law, these things are now considered durable medical equipment and she is no longer able to access these items affordably as it's subject to $5,000 deductible.

Rachel Johnson

Rachel is the mother of Hayley Johnson. She is a freelance writer and full time pancreas for Hayley, who was diagnosed at 4 with diabetes.
