There are some 59,000 people living on the streets of Los Angeles as of 2019. Some of those people choose to live on the street, but a large majority live on the street because of financial hardship such as unemployment and outrageous rental rates. They cannot afford to rent an apartment. This corporation plans to solicit and/or lease empty buildings from the city and county of Los Angeles, and also from private owners.
We plan to build habitations in those buildings and rent out rooms. We plan to build 200 sq. ft. (one person), 300sq.ft. (two people) and 400 sq.ft. (three or more people) rooms. There will be a community kitchen, community dining room, computer room, community showers, community toilets. There will be one shower and one toilet for every five people. Each room will have a sink and a small refrigerator. This Master Plan will cost approximately $40,000 per room instead of the $700,000 the city is projecting to build condos for the homeless.
90% of the funds will be used for construction costs for the habitations. 10% will be used for the management staff who will manage the habitations and rent out the rooms. We will strive to maximize the use of the funds for the homeless and not for salaries or peripheral services.
My time and effort as the main Consultant and creator of this Master Plan will be donated, Pro Bono. I will receive no compensation from these donations for my services.
Please contribute from your heart for this emergency necessity. The suffering on the streets is so great, we need to act now and ease the suffering. The homeless can do very little to help themselves, therefore it is up to us who have means to help them.
