Our non-profit organization, AFTV5, has figured out what the internet can do for us (the people)! We need your support for our vibrant Open Television for All Project -THE DIGITAL FREEDOM PROJECT.
The internet is an incredibly spectacular platform full of possibilities for reaching the masses, and only now —after so many years — AFTV5 understands its power and stands to harness that power in order to do the most good for the most people. With the internet, the world is wide open, the barriers fall, the separation ends, the unity begins, the collaboration explodes and the help emerges.
AFTV5 started four years ago to better use the internet, which has the power to take down BIG Television’s mass control, media domination and information manipulations. The big media groups control news by distributing information that best suits what they want the message to be and what they want us to read, see and hear. Thanks to the internet, they are no longer the sole owners or distributors of information. You go after what you want with so much at your disposal. You bond to whomever you want. You explore, to whatever extent you desire, whatever subjects, topics and content you may want to know about.
AFTV5 has arisen as a new platform of significant value and merit. With AFTV5, the small are neither speechless nor silent. There is a voice for those who, at one time, had no voice. The anonymous become acknowledged. The marginalized become an integral part of the discourse of the world. The world comes together and the old system is falling away, disintegrating and almost going the way of the dinosaurs.
As a non-profit organization, AFTV5 relies on the generous support of partners like you so that we can continue to provide high-quality information that inspires viewers and volunteers to join our mission and help us to advance our agenda.
At AFTV5, we stand grounded in the ideas reflecting AFTV5's mission and underlying values. They include our commitment to ensure equal access to media platforms, promotion of social justice content in media and foster documentary films that explore the social justice issues on which AFTV5 focuses. Your generous support will help us to achieve the following objectives:
1) Develop vibrant public interest media that engages and informs citizens worldwide on critical issues regarding Africa;
2) Promote universal access, open systems and diversity in the media;
3) Support a broad array of journalism and reporting that informs the public on complex social issues affecting Africa;
4) Supports efforts to help vulnerable populations gain access to the social, political and cultural institutions that govern their rights;
5) Secure equal rights and greater opportunity for racial and ethnic minorities and indigenous peoples in Africa;
6) Help organizations secure and protect migrant rights and integrate them into a broader social justice agenda;
7) And ensure access for marginalized groups to a robust criminal justice community committed to fairness and equal protection under the law.
AFTV5 is working to develop a human rights movement that is equipped to confront structural discrimination and inequality and to ensure that the rights of the world’s historically marginalized people are implemented and enforced at the national, regional and international levels.
Support the independent reporting on Africa news and activities. We need to purchase updated equipment, compensate reporters needed to report on major international assignments and pay reporters located in difference countries in Africa, Europe and America.
Your role as a sponsor of this mission is critical. We and our future audience needs you now!
We hope you'll be willing to support AFTV5's work and the sector we serve. Together, we can transform television and create a better world!
