Kwihota Primary School is a government school in Kiambu County Kenya. The School has a population of 800 pupils. The Kenyan government supports only tuition fee, Activity fee, basic needs and salaries for the support staff. All other developments including WASH are left to the mercies of well wishers and people of good will.

The School's latrines are in a pathetic condition. They were constructed over 20 years ago and can no longer support the large population. It takes sacrifice for a pupil to use the facility. The school desperatey needs the latrines renovated and new modern toilets built.

Better families foundation is registered with the registra of societies in Kenya as not for profit organization. Our area of concentration is better livelihoods for families in low income areas. In bettering families, WASH in schools is one of the areas we concentrate in because it relates to family health.

Our kind request to you is for your kind support in raising funds to help building modern toilets for the school and renovate the existing latrines. We look forward to building two streams of 10 toilets each, one for girls and another for boys. A modern urinal shall be included. beyond the new toilets, we shall renovate the existing two streams of 6 toilets each.

We intend to begin the project within the next three months because of the urgency of the issue at hand. Your kind support is sincerely appreciated in Advance.

Yours Truly,

Peter Mwangi

The young girls are the most affected because they have to squat every time they visit the latrines. The latrines are 95% full and the splashing effect of the raw sewer is dangerous to the girl's health. If nothing is done urgently, a serious health situation awaits. Kindly act now and save our kids
