FemArt will invest your donations toward a curriculum that will be delivered in classrooms for grades K-12 and some college arts programs.
This curriculum will begin the discussion of the bias dualities that women of color face in the Arts and will begin the understanding for the need for all voices in our society to have an equal platform to express their perspectives of our world today. Women make much less than men in many statistics but what is often left out of those statistics is that they usually base the white woman's salary to the white man's salary. As women of color are put into the statistics the number greatly decrease as it moves from Black women to Hispanic and Latino women, and Asian women to Indigenous women being at the bottom.
This program is essential to build awareness in our schools to help cultivate a better society. Students will have a first hand account of the struggles of local artists and hear the solutions and perseverance of these strong women of color.
FemArt believes this is the time to begin this much needed dialogue and we need your support to pay each of these women as professional educators when they go to the schools and present this video as well as questionnaires and art projects to gain the multi-level critical thinking of this important lesson.
Please contribute to this essential arts education outreach and be part of cultivating a better society through the visual voices of women artists that is inclusive of all women.
